Run Cancer Run

Well today I had an appointment with a Cardiologist. It may be a surprise to some, because I really didn’t think it would be a big deal. I didn’t want anyone to worry about it at all because I was pretty sure that it would turn out to be nothing. And I was right! I had what my family practitioner called an abnormal EKG in his office last week. So today’s appointment with the cardiologist was to make sure that there wasn’t something wrong. He talked to me, listened to my heart, looked at the EKG, and decided that I am perfectly healthy. He also called the EKG results quite normal. He told me to go ahead and put on my running shoes. 🙂 So the next step is purchasing running shoes.

The last couple of weeks I’ve had a few minor health set backs. Two weeks ago I went in for a physical to take the next step toward training for the marathon. The appointment turned into a problem solving appointment and I ended up with a CAT scan that revealed a small Kidney stone. The Kidney stone is fine, and should pass quietly with little or no pain. Yeah!
So today I had my rescheduled physical evaluation. And all seems to be ok. There was one little thing that the Doctor ordered more testing for. Without going into too much detail, the doctor didn’t feel completely comfortable with me starting a vigorous training schedule yet so I’m still waiting. Trying to be patient. Stay tuned….
